Juniors’ June trip report: Aquatic invertebrates

The Junior Naturalists enjoyed searching for aquatic invertebrates in the mud and water under a boardwalk at Trent this month. Many thanks to Jay Fitzsimmons and Sherri Degasparro for teaching us about the creatures we found!

“You can find some pretty cool animals in the stream, like crane-fly larva.  And if you’re lucky, you may even catch a frog. My favorite part was when we found a pine needle floating in the air, I think it was hanging from a hard to see piece of web. The expedition was pretty cool.” — Lucas
