Birds from the Ground

The Record of Archaeology in Ontario by Douglas C. Sadler and Howard G. Savage

Published as Occasional Papers in Anthropology No. 15, Trent University with the assistance of the PFN.  This book documents the existence of bird species with archaeological sites across the province.  The only Ontario publication which gives a comprehensive examination of the occurrence of bird species in Ontario pre-European settlement.

1998 Peterborough County Natural History Summary

A joint publication of the Peterborough Field Naturalists, Natural Heritage Information Centre, and Trent University.  It provides a summary of the historic status of birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies and vascular plants along with a summary of observations in 1998 by naturalists from across the county.

A comprehensive guide to specific natural areas in the county along with details on the flora and fauna of these areas.
